* **Foreground Location:** We use your location while the app is open to fetch real-time tide data for your specific area.
* **Background Location:** If enabled, our app may access your location in the background to update the "Ongoing Notification" and "Dynamic Island" features, ensuring you have the latest maritime data without opening the app.
* **Note:** Location data is processed locally on your device and sent to our trusted weather API provider (Open-Meteo) to retrieve data. We do NOT store your location history on our own servers.

### Third-Party Services
We use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you:
* **Google Play Services:** For app functionality and updates.
* **Open-Meteo API:** To retrieve maritime and weather data.
* **PayPal / Buy Me a Coffee:** If you choose to donate, your payment information is handled securely by these providers. We do not see or store your credit card details.

## 2. Data Retention
We do not collect or store personal identifiable information on any external servers. Any cached data (like tide heights or weather icons) is stored locally on your device and can be cleared by deleting the app or clearing the app cache.

## 3. Permissions
The app may request the following permissions:
* **Location (Fine/Coarse):** To determine tide stations near you.
* **Notifications:** To display tide alerts and current water levels in the status bar.
* **Internet Access:** To fetch data from maritime services.
